It's been a little longer than usual since I've written a review so even though I don't feel this post will be as comprehensive as usual, this blog will be about the Korean artist Se7en.
I've heard four or five of his songs and can not say that I'm overly impressed. There's only one that I enjoy but even it has some less than wonderful points. Here it is, Better Together.
The highness of his voice really shouldn't bother me since half of DBSK had fairly high voices, but for some reason it does. I also don't know how cute I think he is. He has a pretty mouth when it's not stretched to incredibly large proportions. Also, the women in the video are dressed just hideously. The ones in white wigs and those horrible costumes. And then, the ones later on who have those ugly mask things on? I kinda wonder if Se7en is gay... I mean, more than I usually wonder about korean artists. Since he doesn't find women attractive, he can't tell that his are even less attractive than usual? I don't know.
Also, and most importantly, I think the guy can't dance. He can perform some dance steps, but after watching groups with real talent, it's obvious that his dancing ability is... lacking.
You may recognize Se7en from my list of Top 5 Worst Hard music videos because his video, Passion was number 3. I've since reconsidered and think that he should have been number 2.
I, personally found the song itself unmemorable but I was distracted by the horrible music video. His arms had no muscle what so ever, and yet he showed them off as if proud and again his attempts at dancing left much to be desired. It was hard to tear my eyes from the shiny doo rag and the bedazzled denim vest. So I suppose it is possible that the song was good and I just didn't realize it.
Shall we change the pace a little? Se7en has a couple ballads. I can't say that I've fallen in love with it. Maybe if I'd waited to listen to it until I was in the mood for a slow song, but I just don't have the time since I'm blogging now. hehehe. Without further ado, One More Time.
The dancing irritates me... I think this is just one artist that I need to hear on cd or radio and not a visual media! But the main reason I'm not in love, is because of that little section in the middle where he's dancing in front of the movie theater where the music changes from ballad-y to ...what, hip-hop? I don't know. It just wasn't necessary and broke the mood.
So, that's Se7en! Maybe you'll like him more than I did. Hope so.
