Having decided that I may get myself a new ipod for Christmas, my first task was to decide what music I would put on it. Naturally, my first thought was Dong Bang Shin Ki, or DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki. So I looked them up on yahoo.com because as much as I like the group, I'd only heard a handful and they'd been around for years so I knew I was missing out. I found a list of their songs and then went to youtube.com to listen.
Much to my surprise, DBSK has a couple songs that they didn't make videos for that are really good! Well, I guess that wasn't so much of a surprise, but still. I was at least half expecting that I wouldn't find any new good songs and that they only got really good towards the end. But, I had underestimated my boys. Silly me.
The first one I like because it's a little bit harder than DBSK's usual pop songs without being grunge. It's called Hey! (Don't Bring Me Down) and I think it's Japanese so they sang it as Tohoshinki. Since they didn't make a music video for it, it's not a lot of fun to watch, but it's pretty fun. If you are, however, the kind of person who really needs to see something to appreciate the song (like me) then watch the second version which is a whole lot longer but shows how cool their concerts were.
Gah, those five are just so freaking good looking. Well, can't say I was crazy for Micky's curly hair, but whatever. How awesome would it have been to have Max floating over your head, reaching down to you? Yeah, I had a dream about him right after I saw this video. It started off really really nicely!
And the second song is called Box In The Ship. This one is more of a fun song. It's one of those, 'feel good' 'happy to be alive' songs that I don't generally go for, but DBSK has done well. Now, I haven't looked into it at all, but this might be a remake of an english reggae song. Either way, it's another song that didn't have an official music video but that is definitely going onto my ipod.
I even thought that little bit in the middle with the music that sounded Arabic-ish was awesome!
Anyway, so those are the songs that I found that I had not heard before but turned out to be pretty cool. I've listened to them each several times now, and it just keeps getting better.
