Melissa has done it again! Every time I think, 'Ok, I have enough interests, nothing else of any interest to me,' Melissa comes and introduces me to something new. Now, sometimes, it doesn't go so well *coughElviscough* but most of the time I become more engrossed in the things than her. To name a couple examples, the Animorph series, Korean dramas, and now a Korean band called DSBK. In this instance, she lured me in with the music video for their song, 'Balloons' which is hillariously silly. And so long as I'm being honest, 'silly' is my weakness. If it's silly or funny, I'm probably going to love it. But see for yourself how devious and sneaky she is! This is what she showed poor, unsuspecting me.
Yeah. And then, to seal the deal, she shows me their song, 'Mirotic' just to "show that they're a real band." Yeah. The music is catchy, and again, the dancing was funny.
I've gone on by myself since then of course. The only other song that I've liked enough to remember the name of is, 'Why Did I Fall In Love With You?' and I've even begun trying to memorize it, but holy crap! They sing the words so fast! I don't even speak english that quickly so the memorizing is slow and arduous. I have been able to memorize their names though: Hero, Xiah, Max, Micky, and U-Know. I can always tell Hero, Max, and Xiah apart, but Micky and U-Know...not so much.
Another thing I like about this band is that they sing whole songs in both their native Korean, but also in Japanese. It's almost a given that they sprinkle english words and phrases into their songs, since most modern asian singers do it, but I mention it here because I really like that they do. As much as I enjoy and even admire the asian culture, it's really nice to hear things in the songs that I don't have to look up to know what they mean. "I've got you under my skin!" ~laughs~ (I think they got this part wrong though. You know Frank Senata's song, 'I got you under my skin?' In this song, the woman is the one who's head over heals in love but they're telling her that they have her under their skin, instead of she having them under her skin. Just a little side note I found funny.)
Anyway, I have no idea what Melissa is going to introduce to me next and if I'll love it or if it's going to be a point of contention between us (like who would kick who's butt, Kirk or Picard) but either way, it's always interesting.
